"a theatrical retro rock anthem to nostalgia"
I’m not quite sure when I came across this track, but it has become something that I come back to regularly. I also can’t quite yet put my finger on why this one feels so special. There’s a deeply memorable vocal performance and timber, meaningful lyrics that are enjoyable to mull over, some really nice choral backing vocals, and an incredible bassline, but there’s something intangible as well.
I think it may just be the songwriting and composition that manages to tie together so many excellent parts into an incredible sum of excellent parts.
I am a sucker for nostalgic lyrics, especially ones as eloquent and dynamic as in “Where’d All the Time Go”.
The guitar solo is something special as well, it enhances the narrative of the lyrics, and genuinely feels like a culmination.
Although the album art is not particularly striking to me, it’s a well framed photograph with a nice palette and filtering.
I’m late to the party on this track, but if you are too, give it a listen.
